Keri's Monster Booty Shorties!

I can't believe it is 9:30 and I haven't had any coffee yet! And my eyes are still open!

Our weekend camping adventure was great and Henry had a fabulous time running around and getting dirty. The only time I thought to get the camera out and take pictures was when the little birthday girl was blowing out the candles. Bad mama! But here's a picture of Henry in his little party hat-I was amazed he kept it on for more than 12 seconds.

I just finished up Ms. Keri's pair of Monster Booty shorties. I wanted to post the picture she sent me of the monster she wanted so you could see them side by side, but it opened up as an MS Office document and I couldn't figure out how to save that in a format that I could upload here. Anyway, here are the shorts:

They will be out in the mail this afternoon :)

That means the list is looking like this:
Shannon L.- I have lengthened one leg and will do the other one and mail them this afternoon.
Lene M.- Waiting to hear your design ideas.
Adrienne W.-Getting ready to talk about colors.
Andrea
Christina
Stephannie

I am also getting more excited about Fall knitting...hats, leg warmers, mittens, etc. I love the change of seasons here. This weekend being out and about really reminded me why we took a 30% paycut to move and raise Henry here. We have had such a busy summer that we didn't really have time to get out and enjoy the mountains and things. Now that we can see Fall coming, we are motivated to make the most of the warm months we have left before winter comes along and get out of the house! We have a cooperative share in a local family farm, so I am also looking forward to the change in the produce we pick up weekly. We have been eating so much zucchini and squash and cucumbers and tomato. I am looking forward to the pumpkins and melons and beets of Fall.

Of course it is supposed ot be 88 degrees today, so it looks like I might have a ways to go ;) After I finish Shannon's other leg, I'll be hiding out at the bakery all day, drinking coffee and working on a book I am indexing for a friend. Everyone enjoy your day!

Kate's Monkey Longies

Are done!

They went into the mail Priority this afternoon, so they should be there Monday.

CeCe-Thanks. I love his hair, too, except when I am trying to comb out the dreads in the back that develop when he sleeps. That is definitely not my favorite part of the day.

Keri- He does feel like such a big kid. I tell him "YOu are such a big boy now" and he replies "NO. I'm a big Henry". Gotta love it. I will get started on dying the yarn for your orange and green. They should be on the needles tomorrow.

And Ms. Shannon...I am a dunce. I offered to lengthen those longies for you lickity split and then realised that I don't have any more burgundy yarn *smacks self in forehead* I will be going to the yarn store Sunday evening and the set will go into the mail on Monday morning.

I have the distinct pleasure of going camping with 4 other families with toddlers tomorrow night. The last time we tried camping with another family with a toddler it ended at 4am with us breaking down the tent and packing everything up while Henry screamed bloody murder. Those are the times I wish that Henry hadn't weaned yet. The old dependable boob is dependable no more. Anyway, that was a year ago so I am telling myself that he will be fine this time, right? RIGHT???

I guess you'll know on Sunday...

Grrrr...

Hey mamas. I just wanted to right a quick note while the bean is otherwise occupied to let you know that my email server is down so I don't have access to my email account right now. AH! I am a complete email junkie and I haven't been able to check all day, it is driving me crazy. If you have emailed me today with any new info and are in a hurry to hear back from me, go ahead and post a comment, pretty please. I couldn't get the high speed company to give me an ETA on when they thought it might be back up, so...I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Sorry for any inconveneience!
amy.

OH, I think I have figured out how to add your email to a list so you get an email when I update this thang. If you want me to try it, put your email in the comments. I'll delete the addresses in the comments as soon as I add them to the list.

Customs List, etc.

*yawn*

Good morning, all. So how about Project Runway last night! Man, I wanted to love Jeffery because he looks like someone I'd get along with, but he was so mean to that poor mama! I have been liking him less and less as the season went on, but that sealed the deal for me. Jeffery. Pth. I hope Michael takes the whole thing.

Anyway...

My tiny man has started preschool this week.

Can you tell that having mama drop him off is already a complete embarrassment to him? *sob* Yes, he is only 3 (going on 13), but he was ready to go. I have had to drag him out of there every afternoon this week. This means that I will likely be blabbering on about missing him terribly over the beginning of this blog experiment. But now, let's get down to business.

I want to start by saying that I have no idea what I'm doing. That might be a bad thing to open with, but you will find out sooner or later anyway, right? When it comes to knitting-I am on top of it. When it comes to dealing with customers-I am pretty dern good. But I don't know how other WaHMs run their customs lists and I stink at computers. That is why I am using a template instead of some fancy pants blog lookin' thing. I am going to try to bribe my SIL to fancy it up for me a bit, but until then, you are stuck with me. If you have any suggestions about how you like a list to be organized or run, feel free to comment.

Here goes:
Kate S.- Here is where I am on your monkey longies.

They should be done today and ship tomorrow but I'm not going to pinky swear or anything. It might take until Saturday, but they'll be out soon.

Keri B.- I just got your bright blue yarn yesterday and am super excited to get started.
Shannon L.- I should be able to lengthen the bottoms of those longies sometime this weekend and get them out early next week.
Lene M.- Waiting to hear your design ideas
Adrienne W.-Getting ready to talk about colors.
Andrea
Christina
Stephannie

In addition to this customs list I am trying to get geared up for Fall, and especially Halloween. I have some cool Halloween designs floating around in my head and would like to stock the HC with them sometime in mid-September. I also have a HUGE storage container overflowing with the softest and most beautiful merino wool I have ever knit with, so I am anxious to knit that up as well.

This was taken in icky indoor lighting, but you get the gist.

Okay. I need to get some coffee and get some work done. I hope everyone has a good day and please, please, please feel free to leave me a comment. I'll respond to you, I promise! I'm also going to try to figure out how you can subscribe to this blog so you get and email when I update, but...see above about how bad I am with computers.

And Thus it Began...

...the self important ramblings of a knitter.

I decided to start this blog not only so my beloved customers could chart the progress of their stuff, but so they could get to know a wee bit. I know that while some are content ordering a pair of longies and having them eventually show up at their door, other folks would like a little peek behind the curtain to see what we knitters get up to and what the person they are spending their hard earned cash shopping with is like.

I will update my customs list here and post pictures of my progress on various projects, and I'll also post pictures of things I'm working on for future stockings. I'll also probably ramble on about my little man, Henry, and other things going on around here. Feel free to skim thorugh that stuff if you really just want to know when your monster booty shorts will get there already.

I am going to knit and watch Project Runway right now (I am hopelessly adicted) and I will post some pictures and a customs list in the AM. Night night!
