Holy Stripes, Batman!

Last night I finished Beth's super stripey Black Rainbow Monsters. 13" of 2 row stripes left a lot of ends dangling in the breeze to deal with, but I love how they turned out. Stripes are one of my favorite things ever, so I couldn't resist snapping waaaay to many pictures of them this morning.

I had a lot of fun dying the strawberry Jolly Rogers I posted yesterday and had ONE lonely little pair of 12-18 month longies left over, so I decided to try a different color on them. I wanted a nice bright blue, so I gave them the ole Kool Aid treatment. I did it with some Kool Aid I had from quite a while back when my mom decided to try her hand at Kool Aid dying thinking that if they weren't solid enough I could just re-dye them to solidify things and make a nice, consistent blue. Unfortunately, it seems as though "Blue Raspberry Lemonade" wasn't a best seller because I can't find more anywhere! I am going to check around and see what I can come up with, but they might have to stay a more uneven, lighter blue than I'd hoped for. I also thought about doing a second dye of green, but I'm not sure if that would make them look cool or just kind of brownish gross.

Hey Amy, the stripey monster Crankies look great! I think that the JR ones look good too, and not to burst your bubble, but I have litteraly been in EVERY grocery store in the area looking for the elusive Blue Raspberry Lemonade and have yet to find even 1 packet. I did find some on eBay, but had no need for 64 packs! Sheesh, what does a woman do when she wants to dye blue! Good luck! :)

I deleted the double comment Susannah, that's what that delete thingie is...

Anyway.

I know. No Ice blue Raspberry and no Berry Blue. BUT! I just found one packet of each in the back of a drawer! I put them in a small amount of water and used a medicine syringe to do the areas I thought needed it most, then made a shallow bath for the whole pair. I'm going to leave them for a bit and see what happens...
