Slaaaaacker!

Wow, it's been a while! I guess I've been slacking on the blog thing. It has been a whirlwind around here. Last weekend the weather turned amazing so we spent a lot of the week outside gardening and playing. Henry, Kyle and I planted all sorts of seedlings for our garden: heirloom Brandywine and cherry tomatoes, bell peppers and jalepenos for the back beds and sage, basil, parsley and-my personal favorite- cilantro for the raised herb garden bed we are building out front. Henry picked out some interesting seeds for his garden as well-corn, pole beans and watermelons for produce and -by complete coincidence, I didn't help at all- my two favorite flowers, big blue morning glories and assorted sweet peas. I'm also doing some foxglove to cover up the hideous retaining wall in the side yard. Wish us luck! This will be our first Spring in this house so I'm not sure what to expect.

Unfortunately, the weather turned back to grey and rainy on us just in time for picture taking. I snapped a few anyway, but the lighting is pretty dern bad.

To escape the grey and rainy, we took Henry to see the new remake of Escape to Witch Mountain with The Rock. I have fond, fond, memories of watching the original over and over at the after school movies they used to show at my elementary school so I was pretty skeptical, but Henry wanted to see it. It was nothing like I remember the original and the effects were pretty awful, but Henry loved it and there was a cool little Natty Gann reference if you are paying attention at the beginning of the movie that made me smile.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend!
