Sara's Monster Princess and FEAST Sneak Peek

Well, another season has passed and Autumn is upon us. This FEAST stocking is going to have a literary theme, something very close to my heart. I have loved reading ever since I was a wee one. I remember being in my parent's bed doing One Minute Mysteries as a kid and I hung onto The Great Brain series like some girls hang onto Barbie dolls- knowing I was too old for them but unable to let go of the characters who had danced in my brain for so long. I remember my first female leads- Pippi Longstocking and Ramona Quimby. I could always relate to those girls who were quite lovable, even as they were driving the adults around them a little bit mad.

This handy dandy bag would be perfect for any little beastie out there who loves books as much as I did as a kid (and still do)! It was knit out of 100% merino wool and then washer felted, making it nice and sturdy. The canvas I  BOOKS patch from Fishcakes was then ironed on with heavy duty fusable interfacing and sewn on with cherry red embroidery floss to make sure it doesn't fray and stays put. The bag will come with 5 bookplates featuring my favorite Smartypants monster.

And our second Monster Princess of the month, Ms. Sara's tiara wearing, smoochable longies, are done and ready to be sent out to her new home. Sara, I hope you can provide for the little lady in the manner to which she's become accustomed. She's quite a demanding thing...

I hope you like her!

I *heart* Ramona Quimby...though Superfudge was a huge hit for me too, if I recall... I have a vague memory of someone being a painting for Halloween? Circles and squares? yes?

Can't wait to read them again with Sam.

My personal fav was Diana Wynne Jones...anybody? Probably not. It made me a dork in 4th grade...those books. Excuse me while I go cruise amazon...

Wow...I was just thinking about those series and couldn't remember what her name was. Thanks for easing my mind about Ramona Quimby!
